 Jazz Concert in EUMETSAT - Thursday, 2 December 2010, at 19:00

David Margaryan Trio

The Eumetsat Music Club, with the support of the Staff Association, is glad to present the "History of Jazz" concert event, featuring the jazz trio (piano, bass and drums) led by acclaimed pianist and composer David Margaryan, on Thursday, 2 December 2010, at 19:00 in the EUMETSAT canteen.
 
Styles of different periods, starting from its origins in the African American communities, will be introduced and explained by a narrator, providing an unique opportunity to learn about and better understand this multifaceted music genre that keeps evolving also today.
 
David Margaryan is a very talented Canadian jazz pianist, holding a composer’s bachelor degree from the Armenian State Conservatory and a master degree from the University of Montreal in Canada, where he specialized in jazz piano playing. As composer and pianist he has performed at important jazz venues in Canada, USA and Europe and has also collaborated with a number of TV stations.

Autumn Classical Concert

The Joint EUMETSAT-ESOC Chamber Music Ensemble is glad to present the Autumn Classical Concert with the special participation of oboist Caecilia Kraemer, lecturer at the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt. The programme will include:

W.A. Mozart - String Quartet No. 3 in G major, K. 156
D. Cimarosa - Concerto for oboe and orchestra in C minor
E. Grieg - Elegiac Melodies
E. Elgar - Serenade for strings in E minor, Op. 20

LatinJazz 

David Margaryan is a very talented Canadian pianist and composer, having obtained a composer’s bachelor degree from the Armenian State Conservatory and a master degree from the University of Montreal in Canada, studying jazz piano. As composer and pianist he has successfully performed at the most famous jazz venues in Canada, USA and Europe and has also collaborated with TV stations in every aspect of musical staging.

EUMETSAT Rock/Jazz Groups, Classic Music Ensemble and ECHOS choir present a programme featuring Beatles music.

The “White Horse Inn” („Im weißen Rössl“) played at the Goldnen Löwen in Arheilgen

„Im weißen Rössl“ is a musical comedy set in an idyllic region of the Upper Austria. Sometimes classified as an operetta, the show enjoyed huge successes both on Broadway and in the West End (651 performances at the Coliseum starting 8 April 1931) and was filmed several times. Today, „Im weißen Rössl“ is mainly remembered for its songs, many of which have become popular classics.

It is a magnet for the music trade, for the industry and craftspeople, for music publishers, music teachers and the event business, and has successfully been exercising this power of attraction non-stop for the last 25 years.

The Adelphikon-Ensemble will be performing music by Haydn, Mozart, Brahms and others. Among the players:  Cäcilia Krämer (Oboe/Englisch Horn), already known to us for her performance at the IYA2009 Concert at EUMETSAT last summer.
